Approach

Understand it first. Then use it on real work.

AI answers can sound convincing and still be wrong. We start with how these tools work and how to check what they give you.

  1. How it works

We spend the first part of the lesson on what these tools are underneath. Why they sound confident when they're wrong, why the same question gives different answers, and what they can't know about your business unless you tell them. Once that makes sense, most of the frustration goes away.

  2. Useful habits

Not a hundred prompts to memorize. A small set of habits you'll actually use:

    • Tell it who you are, who the reader is, and what "good" looks like.
    • Give it an example of your own writing or pricing.
    • Check names, figures and claims against your records or the original source.
    • Know when to stop and do it by hand.
  3. Your real tasks

Bring two or three things from your actual week. Common ones:

    • Writing or tidying a quote or estimate
    • Replying to a tricky customer email or review
    • Turning voice notes into a job summary
    • Drafting a seasonal service reminder
    • Reading a long supplier or permit document and pulling out what matters

You do the work on your own screen while we coach. That way it sticks.

  4. Keep learning on your own

You leave with short notes from the session and a list of next things to try. The point of Lesson One is to get you started properly, not to keep you coming back.

What you'll need

  • A computer with Zoom (a phone works, but a laptop is better)
  • Two or three real tasks you'd like help with
  • About 90 minutes without job-site interruptions, if you can manage it

Questions

Do I need to be good with computers?

No. If you can send an email and join a Zoom call, you can do this.

Is my business information safe?

We'll show you what's sensible to paste into an AI tool and what isn't, and how to change the privacy settings in the tool you use.

Will you do the work for me?

In lessons, no. You do it and we coach. The workflow setup is the one option where we build something, and even then the goal is that you can run it yourself.

Is there a certificate?

No. You'll get a skill you can use, not a certificate.

Do you teach in French?

Not at the moment. Lessons are in English only.
